Photograph of couple wearing spectacles

The first thing most people look at when they meet you are your eyes.

If you wear spectacles then naturally these form part of the important "first impression".

Spectacles serve two main purposes firstly they are a practical way of correcting your vision. Secondly they are a fashion item. If you look back over the past few decades you will see how the fashion in spectacles has gone from small to large frames and then back to small. Rimless frames always seem to be fashionable in one form or another as they can be fairly inconspicuous and are usually light to wear. Some frames are there to make a statement, bold shapes and bold colours. It is the shape and colouring of frame styles that is so important in choosing spectacles that suit you.

Some people want the "WOW" factor, others prefer subtle less conspicuous design. Whatever your preference we can provide a range of frames that will suit you.

People come in all shapes and sizes. At Bill & Taylor we recognise this and have ranges of frames to suit all individual needs. Our staff are expert in helping you with this selection . Bill & Taylor carry a very large range of all types of spectacles.

Designer Frames

Designer frames from established and up and coming new exciting ranges that have been specially selected for quality and value. Blending the right frame and lens combination requires skill and knowledge which the staff at Bill & Taylor have in abundance. The right frame with poor quality lens choice can spoil how your spectacles look and feel. Our aim is to make you 100% satisfied with your new spectacles to give you good comfortable clear vision with a style that is right for you.

Spectacle technology

Spectacles are not new. They have been around in various forms for several hundred years. In the past the frames have been made out of a variety of mainly natural materials such as horn, wood, tortoiseshell, silver and gold. The first lenses were made of a natural crystal and then later were made of ground glass.
